Install issues

Ok, so on step 6 of installation, it hangs. It will literally run all night and never get anywhere. Just says "loading." In fact that it hangs trying to load anything on the domain after that. It's QUITE irritating. Clearing out the MySQL database fixes it. Happens every time. What's going on?

Can someone fill in some details ...
Which one is step 6 confused
I think I need a crib sheet to the installer - so at what point is this locking up ...

Step 6 is Cleanup.

Looks like ulukai may be hitting the same problem :(
I've no intention of installing MySQL myself, so has anybody actually managed a clean install on it?
